About the History and Eskrima Lineage at the Club

ESKRIMA LINEAGE
Marcie is currently studying Eskrima (Dacayana System) under Master Eskrimador Alberto Dacayana jr. of Cebu City Philippines:

Alberto or 'Jun' to his friends began with his studies in Eskrima with his late Grand Father Dalmacio "Enciong" Alicaway at the age of just 8 years old! Jun has also studied various Martial Arts including Karate (Okinawan style) under the tutulage of his father's best friend, Grandmaster Winnie Delarosa, Traditional Tai-Chi under the tutulage of Grandmaster Tan as well as with Boxing under the guidance of his uncle Rolando Dacayana.
In 1990 Jun continued to develop his training in Eskrima under the direction of his father Grandmaster Alberto Dacayana Sr., and continues to the present day
The Dacayana System is now becoming established in Cebu City as well as in Europe and the UK. Recently Master Jun ran a seminar to over 250 students at the City's University to bring the Filipino Martial Arts to the students in order to help them rediscover thier heritage of Eskrima in the city:
Jun and Ramil showing 250 Students at Cebu University the finer points of the system!
BRIEF HISTORY and OTHER INFLUENCES
Marcie is also a former student of Krishna Godhania and studied the old Warriors Eskrima syllabus (taught then by Peter Lewis at the Worcester Eskrima club) which at the time was part of the Institute of Filipino Martial Arts. Marcie stayed with Warriors Eskrima until the Autumn of 2003.
Marcie also went on to study JKD Concepts with Krishna (who had trained with both the Late Larry Hartsell and also Paul Vunak) on Krishna's JKD Concepts Instructor Training Program.
Marcie is pleased to credit Krishna with being a great influence to her. Although she now looks to bring other influences into the club her Eskrima "roots" were in the old Warriors system which hold fond memories!
