Ethos, Arts and Expertise at the Group

Malvern Students with Jun after training (June 2009)
There is always a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the Group and anyone is welcome.
The main emphasis is to have fun whilst learning, rather than dwell on formality. Of course, everyone is expected to show respect for one another and adhere to the ethos within the Group.
The two main Arts practised at the Group are Filipino Eskrima and Jeet Kune Do concepts ESKRIMA JKD CONCEPTS
If you are new to Martial Arts and are unsure whether Eskrima or Jeet Kune Do Concepts may be for you, just come along and join in, the first lesson is always free! All you will need is casual clothing and trainers and an open mind! It really doesn't matter whether you are a complete beginner or a Black Belt in another style. Lessons are structured so you can train whatever you experience, and above all have fun!
The group can draw on a wide range of expertise both from its' own students and from links to individuals and organisations that it associates with. For example within the nucleus of the group we have experts in many arts (e.g. Muay Thai, Kung Fu and Aikido) as well as immediate access to (for example) Jujutsu and Grappling from the Sacred Spring family. All of which help the group evolve and develop in the practising of the Arts especially within the Concepts and MMA arenas. Additionally of course, the Eskrima taught at the Group is constantly evolving and developing with input from Marcie who is now proud to be able to draw on the expertise of Master Jun Dacayana.
Here is a quote that Marcie has always been very proud of:
" Marcie is a great instructor, very patient and easily likeable but with the technical ability to back it up at any standard. I would recommend training with her. If you have never trained before, you will never find a better art to learn than this one and you will make truly genuine friends if you are prepared to take the first step through the door....
